The Research & Development Headquarters has three missions when it takes on technology development: strengthening platform technologies, accelerating product development speed, and fostering new businesses.
The Research & Development Headquarters serves as a cross-departmental organization. It extracts platform technologies usable company-wide from the highly specialized core technologies pursued by each business division in their respective fields. This strengthens technological capabilities and contributes to accelerating product development speed. The Research & Development Headquarters consists of the Technology Development Center, responsible for deepening platform technologies, and the Business Development Center, focused on creating new businesses.
Our industrial machinery and logistics system require highly reliable control technologies and ICT-based solutions. We have established the ICT & Control Development Headquarters as a company-wide development unit specializing in essential telecommunication technologies. Based on the advanced communication technologies accumulated within our Communication Equipment business, which handles communication devices including fax machines and multifunctional peripherals, and the embedded technologies cultivated through diverse product development across various fields, we develop applied technologies to enhance the functionality of products across all business divisions.

Operating a diverse array of business, Muratec has a wide range of target markets, product fields, and required technological areas. As a cross-divisional research organization, we aim to broaden our knowledge base and foster new ideas by sharing a forward-focused technology roadmap across the entire company. Once a year, we hold a company-wide meeting to share where we refine and review each roadmap.
We regularly hold networking events where all technical employees can freely participate, serving as a place to connect ideas from engineers across business divisions and R&D departments. We also hold presentation sessions to share the latest development case studies.
To further accelerate the creation of new technologies, our R&D departments are taking the lead in actively promoting industry-academia collaboration and open innovation. While incorporating cutting-edge technologies, some of which our company is new to, we actively gather information on technological trends in society that cannot be captured solely through the flow of business activities.
