Supply Chain Management

Policy & Basic Approach

The Muratec Group seeks mutual prosperity with its suppliers, who are our business partners, based on a relationship of mutual trust founded on fair and equitable transactions. We will also strive to provide stable value to society through activities that reduce risks in the supply chain.

Transaction Basic Policy

Purchasing Transaction Basic Policy

  1. Compliance with Laws & Social Norms

We comply with laws and social norms, including the Subcontract Act (eliminating discriminatory treatment, prohibiting child labor and forced labor, respecting intellectual property, preventing corruption, etc.), and conducting our corporate activities in a fair and transparent manner.

  2. Promotion of Fair & Equitable Transactions

We conduct fair, transparent, and free competition, as well as proper transactions. We do not engage in hospitality or gift-giving, nor the exchange or provision of money intended to obtain improper benefits, and we respect sound business relationships that comply with laws and regulations.

  3. Selection Criteria for Business Partners

When selecting business partners, we comprehensively evaluate factors including stable management foundations, the ability to meet our required specifications and quality standards, strong technological development capabilities, adherence to delivery schedules, stable supply, and appropriate pricing, in addition to the criteria outlined in sections 1 and 2 above.

Guidelines for Sustainable Procurement

Murata Machinery Business Partner Conduct Guidelines

The Muratec Group endorses the principles of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct and is committed to practicing responsible corporate activities.
Murata Machinery believes this RBA Code of Conduct is meaningful for suppliers, who are our business partners, to fulfill their responsibilities regarding environmental and social impacts. We have therefore formulated and published the Murata Machinery Business Partner Code of Conduct as an integrated set of guidelines that incorporates perspectives and elements we consider important.
This Business Partner Code of Conduct complies with the latest RBA Code of Conduct. We request that our major material suppliers and partner companies within our facilities agree to this code and act in accordance with it.

Initiatives

Questionnaire Surveys of Business Partners

We conduct questionnaire surveys to confirm the status of initiatives regarding our company policies and the RBA Code of Conduct’s items on labor, occupational health and safety, environmental conservation, ethics, and management systems, as well as Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for our major suppliers and contractors operating within the Inuyama Plant premises. Additionally, our employees visit suppliers’ manufacturing sites and provide improvement support as needed.

Supplier Audits

We conduct on-site audits primarily to support improvement efforts in safety and health, environmental management, and business continuity planning (BCP) for suppliers selected based on survey results and other company criteria.

Promoting Health Management

To promote health management alongside our suppliers, we introduce our activities to help with understanding our approach to health management. We also provide access to archived videos of health awareness seminars held at our company.

Compliance Reporting Hotline

We have established a compliance reporting channel for our suppliers to consult or report any misconduct, violations of laws or ethics, or any actions that may constitute such violations in their dealings with our Group. We will protect the privacy of whistleblowers and maintain strict confidentiality, and will not treat whistleblowers or their employers inappropriately as a result of their reporting.
