We, the Murata Machinery Group, declare in the Muratec Code of Conduct our commitment to respecting the diversity, dignity, and individuality of our employees. Furthermore, the work rules explicitly state that employees shall receive fair and appropriate treatment and shall not be subjected to discriminatory treatment based on their nationality, beliefs, gender, or social status.
Additionally, we conduct internal training to prevent workplace harassment and other misconduct. We have established various consultation channels accessible to all Group employees, including non-regular staff, for compliance- and harassment-related inquiries, as well as for reporting violations when discovered. The confidentiality of those seeking counseling is strictly maintained, and retaliatory actions or unfavorable treatment based on the counseling are prohibited.
We, the Murata Machinery Group, respect human rights, the fundamental rights possessed by all individuals, as a basic principle of our business activities. We hold this as the highest-level policy among all Murata Machinery Group regulations concerning human rights, and we will advance initiatives to minimize adverse impacts on human rights that may arise directly or indirectly in the course of our business activities.
We understand and value the United Nations’ “International Bill of Human Rights” and “Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights,” the “Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work” of the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the laws and regulations of each country where the Murata Machinery Group conducts business activities. Where there is any discrepancy between national laws and regulations and internationally recognized human rights, we will pursue methods to respect and prioritize international norms.
This policy applies to all officers and employees of the Murata Machinery Group. We also expect our business partners to support and implement this policy, and together we will promote respect for human rights.
We recognize that addressing the following human rights issues related to Murata Machinery Group’s business activities is particularly important. We will sincerely address each issue as we advance our endeavors.
We will share this policy with our suppliers, verify and evaluate their compliance, and promote respect for human rights throughout the entire supply chain.
We respect individual human rights and diversity, and prohibit all forms of discrimination and harassment based on nationality, race, ethnicity, religion, ideology, beliefs, gender, age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy status, employment status, or any other grounds.
We do not recognize or tolerate forced labor, including human trafficking, slave labor, or child labor.
We provide our employees with a safe, secure, and hygienic working environment.
We strive to practice responsible labor practices, including proper working hour management and ensuring minimum wage.
We understand the importance of personal information and strictly manage it to prevent leaks. Furthermore, we prohibit the improper or unjust use of personal information obtained through our business activities.
We respect freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in the countries and regions where we conduct business activities.
We shall establish a human rights due diligence framework in accordance with the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. We will continuously implement and improve efforts to identify, assess, remedy, mitigate, and prevent adverse human rights impacts related to our overall business activities.
Where adverse impacts on human rights, whether direct or indirect, are identified, we will work to remedy them through dialogue and appropriate procedures based on this policy and international norms.
We have established a reporting channel for all stakeholders involved in Murata Machinery Group’s business activities to report human rights violations arising from our operations. We are committed to addressing these issues through remediation and corrective action. In such cases, we will not tolerate any adverse treatment of whistleblowers and will strive to ensure anonymity and confidentiality.
We strive to ensure that this policy permeates our organization and is adhered to by providing appropriate training and education to all officers and employees. We also share this policy with our business partners and seek their understanding to promote its adoption.
We share human rights issues related to the Murata Machinery Group’s business activities and engage in dialogue and consultation with stakeholders regarding the human rights initiatives outlined in this policy, thereby strengthening our efforts to respect human rights.
We disclose information regarding compliance with this policy as appropriate through the Murata Machinery Group website and other means.
