PLANO, Texas (March 31, 2010) — Muratec America, Inc., manufacturer of multifunction office equipment and business productivity solutions, announces today that the ScanTag metadata capture solution for Muratec MFP’s has been successfully integrated with the ViewWise Document Management Solution developed by Computhink, Inc.
Available on select Muratec MFP’s, ScanTag enables users to enter indexing fields on the MFP touchscreen to facilitate seamless document archiving into the ViewWise document management application.
To utilize ScanTag a system administrator can register several metadata fields on the MFP using the intuitive browser interface. A user can then walk-up to the MFP, insert their document into the automatic document feeder and select [ScanTag]. Users can then enter the required indexing fields, choose the document file format (TIFF or PDF) and select [Start]. The document will be scanned and the indexing fields will be converted into a data file, which is used to import and index the document into ViewWise. Users then have instant access to the document within ViewWise.
