Powerful document imaging solutions enable high-speed color and monochrome printing, intuitive operation and innovative digital document delivery
Plano, Texas (October 1, 2008) - Muratec America, Inc., manufacturer of multifunction office equipment and business productivity solutions, announces today the availability of two new color multifunction solutions, the MFX-C4000 Professional Edition and MFX-C2500 Professional Edition.

The MFX-C4000 Professional Edition and MFX-C2500 Professional Edition are unique in that they offer a maximum output size of 8.5” x 14”.
“While we acknowledge that some customer applications require ledger-size output, a majority of workgroup users produce documents on letter and legal-size paper,” said D’Emidio. “Our vision is that customers will continue to deploy ledger-size color MFP’s into a centralized location for specific applications or large print jobs. We believe they’ll replace stand alone color printers within the individual workgroup with a convenient, cost-effective color MFP solution, such as the MFX-C4000 Professional Edition and MFX-C2500 Professional Edition, to handle a majority of their daily output needs.”
MFX-C4000 Professional Edition (PE)
The MFX-C4000 PE produces color and monochrome output at up to 40 pages-per-minute. The device features a standard 100-sheet reversing automatic document feeder, legal-size platen glass and duplex printing to create a robust, not to mention cost-effective, document handling system.
The device ships with a 520-sheet paper cassette that supports letter and legal-size paper (up to 28 lb.), as well as a 100-sheet multipurpose bypass tray that supports thicker paper stocks (up to 43 lb.), letterhead, transparencies, envelopes and various other media types. The device can be outfitted with a variety of paper options to bring the total capacity to 2,720-sheets.
Document finishing is also available on the MFX-C4000 PE. The optional single-position stapling unit features a 500-sheet output tray, staples up to 50 pages and allows for shift-sort output.
Both PCL6 and PostScript 3 support is standard and enables printing from a variety of Windows, Linux and Macintosh environments. An 80 GB hard drive increases printing performance by enabling secure, password protected printing, job collation, overlays and more.
The standard high-speed Ethernet connection supports a host of digital document delivery solutions including scan to folder (SMB), FTP and e-mail. The device also features a direct USB host that enables users to print documents directly from a USB flash drive. Users may also scan documents from the automatic document feeder, or platen glass, directly onto the flash drive as TIFF, PDF or JPEG images.
An optional 33.6 Kbps fax modem can be added to enable faxing from the MFP or desktop. The MFX-C4000 PE features full color fax support, inbound fax routing to e-mail, one-touch sending, multi-location broadcasting and secure reception.
Usability, security and regulatory compliance features are also prevalent on the MFX-C4000 PE. The device features an intuitive, 7-inch color touch screen which seamlessly navigates users through job registration, execution, machine set-up, troubleshooting and more.
LDAP support enables users to quickly access contacts from within corporate directories, such as Microsoft Active Directory and Open LDAP, while network authentication requires user sign-on prior to gaining machine access.
The MSRP for the MFX-C4000 PE is $8,995.
The black toner cartridge is rated at 20,000 impressions @ 5% page coverage, while the cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges are rated at 15,000 impressions @ 5% page coverage. The black, cyan, magenta and yellow imaging cartridges are rated at 30,000 impressions. All eight imaging supplies can be accessed from the front cover and are designed for user replacement.
MFX-C2500 Professional Edition (PE)
Featuring broad PDL support and high-speed 10/100 BaseT Ethernet and USB 2.0 connections, the MFX-C2500 PE can be easily integrated into a variety of end-user environments, delivering exceptional color printing, scanning and faxing to the small workgroup.
